Milparinka Accommodation

Theldarpa Station (Farm Stays, Station Stays)

Theldarpa is a 50000 ha sheep and cattle property located in the heart of the Corner Country, little more than a half hour drive west of Milparinka along theHawker Gate Road. It is owned by the Sandow family who have lived in the area for thirty years, and is home to Sarah and David.

The homestead and accommodation places are located on the confluence of two local creek systems which meet to form the historic Yandama Creek.  In the early days of settlement in the Corner Country the creek formed part of the track from Mt Browne to the Transcontinental Railway at Farina, in South Australia and was used by Afghan camel teams as well as miners from Mt Browne.

The remains of a historic wool-scour and shearing shed can still be found on the creek.

Theldarpa is known for  outback vistas that stretch for endless kilometres before meeting a red-gum or gidgee lined creek.  Sandstone mesas rise above saltbush plateaus that shimmer with reflective skies. Local  4WD is available with high clearance drives. It is a popular spot for for birdwatchers, photographers and artists, as well as bush walkers.

Theldarpa is also an ideal stopover place for those traveling the loop around the Corner Country, or towards or from Innamincka.

 Dogs are welcome!
