Outbacknow E-Newsletter December 2011
|
December 2011, It's Christmas time again.... MERRY CHRISTMAS! G'day - Welcome to the last newsletter of 2011, and what a year it has been! We have just returned from a three month trip around outback NSW in our New Age Caravan visiting clients, festivals and attractions as we went. We travelledover 8000kms and took over 1000 photo's which will end up on the website for all to see - hoping to whet your appetite for an outback adventure. Every town we visited had something new to show us; things we didn't know about and probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for talking with the locals - there is no substitute for local knowledge. We enjoyed mine tours, artesian spa's, paddle boat cruises, museums, goals, art galleries, wineries, heritage walks and happy hour. If you're staying in a caravan park, grab a beer or wine and wander around the park - you'll meet new friends (and old ones) and learn about the attractions they saw and what not to miss. A special THANK YOUto the following caravan parks for their hospitality and friendship; you guys really made us feel welcome :Mehi River Caravan Park Moree, Tooraweenah Caravan Park,Narromine Caravan Park, Nyngan Riverside Caravan Park,Cobar Caravan Park, Hillston Caravan Park, Leeton Caravan Park, Hay Caravan Park,Willowbend Caravan Park Wentworth, Broken Hill Lakeview Caravan Park, Kidman's Camp Caravan Park Bourke, Opal Caravan Park Lightning Ridge,The Nindigully Pub and St George Caravan Park. Over the next few months- The Tropical North of Australia is getting ready for the "wet" season again - something that is absolutely essential for its regeneration - without the "wet" season we would not see the lush green vegetation fringed billabongs, stunning birdlife and abundant wildlife that makes the outback so special; remembering a fair bit of water ends up in the Darling and Murray Rivers. The North is definitely not closed for business and those that venture out (albeit with a little planning) will be rewarded with an experience not available during the traditional tourist season (winter). So take it easy, do a little planning and enjoy the outback at its stunning best. New e-newsletter signups: If you know anyone who might appreciate and enjoy our e-newsletter, forward it on to them - each new signup for December will go into the draw to win a year's subscription to "On the Road Magazine". Stocking filler idea -If you're looking for a Christmas stocking filler idea, checkout "The Great Australian Door Step" they have a special on DVD sets of their TV Show. Follow our journey on Facebook or the website **The Team at Outbacknow wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year!** Until next month - we look forward to catching you somewhere in the Outback.
