Injune Where Country Is Festival

The South-Western Queensland town of Injune may be small with a population of  only 370 people, however, the Injune ‘Where Country Is’ Festival is certain to be a ‘big’ deal!

An hour north of Roma, and about 7 hours north-west of Brisbane lies the former ‘cattle and dairy hub’ town of Injune. Surrounded by scenic national parks including Carnarvon Gorge, Ka Ka Mundi, Mt Moffatt, Salvator Rosa,  Nuga Nuga, Lonesome, Expedition and Beilba; Injune is the perfect place to relax and enjoy life or explore some of outback Australia’s most stunning natural attractions; and what better time is there to do this then during the Injune ‘Where Country Is’ Festival. The composition of the festival changes each year, but everyone agrees that the entertainment and activities are first class. Click below for more information about the festival.

Whilst in Injune see the memorial sign dedicated to the coal miners of the old Maranoa Collieries Coal Mine site, the plaque at the site of the ‘Lonesome Plane Crash’ and the dedication of headstones on unmarked graves at the Old Injune cemetery.
