Gold was 1st discovered in Clermont 150 years ago.

Each year hundreds rush to Clermont for the annual Gold and Coal fest event which sees locals and visitors compete in the lucrative Gold Detecting Competition, Gold Raffle and Gold Wheel.

This combined treasure chest has been attracting punters to Clermont over the last 10 years, and the festival is now a 2 day event chocced full of activities to celebrate the unique culture and heritage of gold mining.

Musicians, poets, school groups, Clermont's own Music Makers and others will provide ENTERTAINMENT right through the festival with MARKET STALLS including gold jewellery, nuggets and jems being sold in the market stalls. Food, and general market stalls will be there in good numbers again too. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!

It's Gold, Gold, Gold for Clermont!

During the Friday and Saturday you can win gold nuggets (valued at $50 each) on the  “gold wheel” (like a “ham wheel” only the prize is gold nuggets)

Enjoy a serious case of gold fever with good food to enjoy, entertainment, market stalls and the chance to win gold nuggets and jewellery.

The Clermont GoldFest seeks to promote Clermont, its attractions and businesses with a special emphasis on our gold prospecting heritage. Local schools, professional and local musicians, bush poets and an annual detector competition all make it a great celebration.
