Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival (Outback Festivals)
The annual Nameless Jarndunmunha Festival is a gala event usually held on the first weekend in August. The Festival includes sideshows, novelty games and races, art and craft exhibits and spectacular fireworks displays.
The whole town becomes involved in the event, by either making floats, putting up a stall or partaking in the King of the Mountain race.
The King of the Mountain Race is a race that tests any jogging enthusiast since it involves jogging to the top of Mount Nameless.
This outback Australia race attracts many participants from near and far .
A themed ball is also part of the festivities.
Mt Nameless, 1128 metres above sea level, is the highest accessible mountain by vehicle (four wheel drive only) in Western Australia.
It provides spectacular views of the Tom Price iron ore mine site and the township. For energetic people, there are two walk trails to the summit, providing breathtaking views every step of the way.
Why not take a week or two to experience some of the other highlights the area has to offer including the Kirijini N.P, Mount nameless and the stunning wild flower displays from July to October.
