Winton Outback Festival (Outback Festivals)
Pack in 5 days of outback fun with the Winton Outback Festival every second year (next festival 24th September 2013)
Pack your swag and head out west for 5 days of thrills, spills and rip roaring action at the Outback Festival in Winton Queensland.
Held every second year, this Winton festival delivers all the unique events synomous with the bush - a ute muster, truckies' reunion, derby, whip cracking, iron man and women challenges.
There is no such thing as a spectator sport with tourists and locals encouraged to enter the Australian Dunny Derby, Outback Iron Man and Iron Woman events, a Ute Muster and the Whip Cracking Championships just to name a few.
You havent 'experienced' the outback until you've entered the Australian Dunny Derby, or witnessed the World Crayfish Derby Race Meeting, part of the line up of unique events at the Winton Outback Festival.
The other zany events which now include the Outback Iron Man and Outback Iron Woman events, True Blue Aussie Sports Competition, Bushman's Egg Throwing Competition, Outback Iron Kid Event,Country/Rock Music Spectacular, just to name a few of the 50 events conducted during the 5 days of festivities.

Entry to the Festival is mainly free of charge with the exception of nomination fees for events, entry into the Australian Dunny Derby/World Crayfish is a nominated fee and the festival includes 12 hours of varied entertainment including a Music Spectacular.
Accommodation for the festival:
To assist in the accommodation needs for the Outback Festival, staying in our ‘Tent City’ which will be located at ‘Snooza Paddy’s’ site which is conveniently located at St. Patrick’s School Oondooroo Street and situated in easy walking distance of the entertainment area.
Tent City is designed to take the hassle out of camping with modern tents already erected for patrons upon their arrival. Staff will be available on-site to assist patrons. These modern 2-3 person tents are carpeted, fully screened, have fold-up beds and mattresses and are fitted with an internal light. You only need to bring (sleeping bags, pillows etc.) towels, folding chairs & personal requirements.
For those requiring breakfast, this will be provided on site. Hot showers, toilets & communal tea/coffee making facilities are provided, and a large covered shade area to relax under after a big day’s entertainment. ‘Snooza Paddy’s’will be its own thriving community for the duration of the Outback Festival.
