National Bilby Day (Other)
“THE BILBY FESTIVAL” Culminating in NATIONAL BILBY DAY
These delightful furry Australians now have a special day of their own, NATIONAL BILBY DAY was officially launched in 2005 and the celebrations are held on the second Sunday of September annually. The National Bilby Day Celebration will be held in Charleville, South West Queensland and will capture the real bush and conservation flavour.
With a very exiting and interesting program for all young and young at heart to enjoy.
Save the Bilby Fund is running a competition for kids for National Bilby Day. The competition can be accessed via www.savethebilbyfund.org and by then clicking on the competition link.Schools can win live bilby visits and the kids can use this research activity to learn lots more about endangered species.
What can you do to help?
We invite you, your school, family and friends and local businesses to contribute $20 towards a panel of fence. Each donor will be officially recognised on-site at Currawinya National Park on a “Roll of Honour” permanently on display at the site and issued a personal certificate.
Donations will also be graciously received from larger corporate organisations wishing to make a larger financial commitment.
We also have a large range of Bilby merchandise that can be order by downloading the order form off our website www.savethebilbyfund.com and sent to the address supplied. The increasingly high profile of bilbies means more dollars for the fund. To date, The Save the Bilby Fund has raised over $800,000. Primarily donated by everyday Australians.
We need your support.
Now that we have become an incorporated entity, any costs that we can recover to put back into our wonderful bilbies will be critical to their survival and to the success of the fund. We want to keep you informed of what we are doing and how you can help participate in fantastic events such as the National Bilby Day.
This would not have been possible without all your support and I am convinced that the next generation will be most grateful.
