Thargomindah Channel Country Challenge (Event to be confirmed) (Rodeo)
Saddle up the Thargomindah Stockmans Challenge. The event will see Australia's best stockman line up to take out the coveted award and prize money.
This is the fifth year of the Channel Country Challenge at Thargomindah. Each year the event grows from strength to strength. Competitors come from as far a field as Tamworth in the south to Cloncurry in the north, from Toowoomba in the east and Maree in the west. There are a maximum number of 20 horses for sale, which was conducted by Elders in Cunnamulla. The top priced horse fetched AUD $8,750.
There is a Claypan Boogie under the stars on Friday Night followed by one of the best outback rodeos around on Saturday night. The Channel Country stockmen come to participate in the rodeo. Sunday is all of the finals for the Challenge and campdrafts. For a great weekend of entertainment in the midst of the channel country come to Thargomindah as a spectator or compete alongside the true outback stockmen of Australia.
Throw in a bit of live entertainment, full bar, kitchen operating and a friendly atmosphere and you are guaranteed a good time in Thargomindah Stockman's Challenge.
