Roma Cup (Horse Racing)

The XXXX Gold Roma Cup - Roma Turf Club

November 18, Friday Night: FROM 6.30PM

The Roma Cup Calcutta and Cocktail Party will be held at Roma's Explorers Inn. Drinks  and finger food are available on arrival.  A Buffet Dinner will  also be available for guests.

November 19, Race Day: FROM 11AM

• Gate Admission:$25

• Inside Track:The best viewing position on the park, will be open to all punters this year. Open marquees and unreserved tables will offer access to Food, drinks, band, and bookies for all comers this year. Coming and going across the track will be controlled by security who will prevent guests being barreled by the thoroughbreds and angry jockeys.  Local boys, The Culprits will be shaking the marquees until late.

• Private Marquees: A select few marquee spaces have been booked for private functions Inside Track. Marquee clients will monitor these spaces and guests will be by their invitation only.

• Qantaslink/Black Toyota Fashions on the Field: The Fashion parade and judging will be held in a large marquee near the front gate. Registrations are open from noon at the marquee and close by 1.30pm with judging and finals running until approximately 3pm.

• Swag Central, as usual will be at the southern end of the Park. Throw out your swag, unzip the tonneau cover, pop up the tent wherever you like inside the Bassett Park camping area gates. Neighbours will be close so don't be revving your yellow Kingswood in the wee hours of the morning. Admission is $25 per vehicle for two nights (Friday and Saturday). Short stagger to the Turf Club entrance.

• Tent CityA step up from the back of the ute - 2-3 beds, carpeted floors, 12volt lights, village atmosphere. Cosy Canvas spaces. Showers and Toilets. See link below for bookings.

• Roma Cup buseswill pick up and deliver back to accommodation houses throughout the raceday and after the party finishes in the early hours of Sunday morning.

• Members: All Roma Turf Club members will have access to the Members Bar, upstairs at Bassett Park and an invitation to the Roma Cup Luncheon. Membership for the new season is now available but thongs and singlets will not get you into the air-conditioning. Despite the rumours, cleavage won't work this year either.

• Post Race Party: The Rush Band will charge up in the Snake Pit as the sun sets and the event becomes suitable for over 18s only

• Recovery Breakfast will be on at the Park from 6am Sunday morning. The local constabulary will be breathalysing on the Warrego about then also.

Camping/Tent City                             

• Camping is available at Bassett Park, NO BOOKINGS REQUIRED, $25 per car for Friday and Saturday night. First in, best dressed. Showers and toilets, some powered sites available.

• TENT City:  This year, an area of Bassett Park will house some tents for two nights of accommodation (single, twin or triple). Beds, flooring, 12volt lighting, village atmosphere, Bookings can be made by clicking here
