Roma - Easter in the Country (Outback Festivals)

EASTER IN THE COUNTRY 2012

Bursting at the seams with fun for the whole family, Easter in the Country 2012 is jam-packed with a huge range of things to see and do. 

For the thrill-seekers, crowd favourites such as the famous unpredictable goat races, the adrenaline pumping Night Rodeo and Bull Ride, the mud pits of the Lions Mud Derby, the action packed Speedway, Drag Racing, and the XXXX Gold Cup Race meeting.

Motocross returns again, while for those who like a little less action, the Country Markets are the perfect place to wander and browse for something unique while waiting for the Saturday Street Parade which is full of wacky and wonderful floats, quirky street characters and novelty races.  

The Art Exhibition is also another place to find a quiet moment and explore the many facets of creative expression.

President, Lyn Kajewski says “A fabulous 1940’s Swing Dinner Dance has been added to the program this year to remember the glamour, music and dance of an era where life was a little slower and which evolved from a period in time when the world was at war.   

So, glam up and dance the night away or sit back and relax while sipping on a martini.”

The Bush Poets return again this year to share stories of our heritage through bush poetry while displays of historical collections and the historical Mt Abundance Homestead will provide a glimpse of times gone by.

Every year Roma hosts this well loved festival which draws crowds of over 17,000 who take the opportunity to celebrate and enjoy all things country. 

So jump in your car and make your way out to Roma for a great Easter in the Country!
