Western Plains Zoo

Locared about 4kms west of Dubbo is Taronga Western Plains Zoo, home to over 1,500 animals from all over the world.

With more than 300 hectares of bushland, the zoo is widely recognised as Australia’s greatest open range zoo.
Visitors can take the 6km journey around the park in your own car or hire a bike.

Visitors can also participate in Animal Encounters; three tours that give visitors the opportunity to feed, observe and assist with programs for the Black, White and Greater One-horned Rhinoceros; Sumatran Tiger and African Lion. Bookings are essential.
