Clermont Cemetary
Clermont Cemetery - A cemetery with a view!
Clermont Cemetery is found on the banks of Sandy Creek. The site’s old headstones which date back to 1860s, tell many stories of the towns original residents and paints a picture of Clermont all those years ago.
The cemetery is also the location of the common grave of 35 residents who lost their lives during the flood of 1916. The common grave is marked by a cross and a brass plaque on a rock. The horizontal bar of the cross marks the height of the flood waters, while the memorial’s plaque bears the names and ages of the flood victims.
