Carnarvon Gorge National Park

The Carnarvon National Park - over 298,000 hectares - comprises the most visited Carnarvon Gorge section as well as the Mt Moffatt, Ka Ka Mundi, Salvator Rosa, Deepdale, Moolayember and Goodliffe sections.

Spectacular Carnarvon Gorge is 106 km south of Rolleston by road. With Carnarvon Creek meandering through the length of the soft sandstone gorge, it is a paradise for walkers. The marvellous narrow side gorges, cliffs, moss gardens, Aboriginal rock art sites and glorious and abundant plant and bird life are in stark contrast to the brigalow country surrounding Carnarvon Gorge. This gorge engenders peace and serenity, and its spectacular views makes this National Park one of the most popular in Queensland.

Camping is available in the Carnarvon Gorge Visitor Area during the Queensland Easter, winter and spring school holidays. Bookings are essential
