Aboriginal Steel Art
Aboriginal Steel Art creations by "Liwingu"
Wayne "Liwingu" McGinness combined his love of Aboriginal Art with his skills as a steel fabricator and came up with his own brand of Aboriginal Art made from steel.
His ability and talent to combine traditional Aboriginal Art with present-day technology has opened up a niche market for his unique skill.
He started off by designing and fabricating a 4.5 metre long crocodile for an entrance gate and it received such a positive response that he started experimenting with different Australian animals and techniques.
Wayne creates his works of art using mainly marine grade stainless steel as it has the durability to last.
3 different categories of steel art are in Wayne’s portfolio:
- Wall hangings, garden sculptures and small art pieces
- Building accessories, using his steel building industry knowledge and experience he creates decorative gates, screens and other enclosures to complement the home.
-
With local knowledge and a passion for the land, Wayne creates community signs that blend in yet have a uniqueness of their own.
