YES YOU CAN STAR GAZE DURING THE DAY!!!
From April to October visitors to Charleville’s Cosmos Centre have the opportunity to view the ONLY star in the Solar System … our Sun.
Stars are nothing more than great big burning balls of gas and our Sun is no different. Producing all heat and light for the Solar System through multiple nuclear explosions the Sun is surprisingly smooth and mellow.
We are able to view the solar wind from the edge of the Sun and when sun spots appear we have a close look ‘holes’ that could swallow the Earth.
No pre conceived idea on what the Sun should look like prepares you for viewing our own special star.
Stories of the night sky- booking essential (additional session and price)
Complement your observatory session with the ancient stories of the stars. Using a powerful green astro laser light, your guide relates the stories of the constellations, both European and indigenous.
Not available two days before and two days after full moon the sky is too light to pick up all the constellations.
