Western Downs Regional Council includes several townships within its borders.

Jandowae, is home to Council's Community and Cultural Centre. The Centre includes a Queensland Government Agency Program office, which provides one-stop access to more than 400 government services. Jandowae was settled in the 1860's, with the timber industry an important aspect of life that has flowed through even to today.

Bell is a pretty town located close to the Bunya Mountains. It attracts tourists and those who love the "sport of kings" - horse racing - and the four annual race meetings offer country markets on the course. Long associated with railways, Bell has seen the refurbishment of its Railway Station, and the purchase of a early model diesel locomotive and passenger railer.

Kaimkillenbun is known for its long and slightly tongue-twisting name - and for its popular and historic pub. Luckily, the latter has a name that's dead easy to pronounce and to remember for future visits.

Jimbour is well worth a visit if only for the brooding magnificence of Jimbour House, a solid recognition of the Shire's pioneer past.

Warra is the centre of a grain, sorghum and cotton growing area. Tourist attractions include the restored railway station and the great atmosphere of country race days.
