Jarvis Hill Lookout
Jarvis Hill, about 6 km south west of Hawker has for many years been a popular place for the locals to take relatives and friends to share the panoramic views of the Hawker area, including the Worumba Hills to the east, Wilpena Pound, Elder Range and Wonoka Hill to the north and Yourambulla Range to the south.
Police Hill Lookout
North of the Hotel, offering panoramic views. Police Hill was so named because it was used as a paddock for police horses and as a pound for straying stock found in the town. A police trooper, Trooper Coe, was stationed at Hawker in 1880. A Police Station and residence was eventually built in 1883. Prior to this lawbreakers were tied to a pole until they could be taken to a proper jail.
