One week prior to the famous Birdsville Races, Betoota Race Club Inc will host Betoota Cup Raceday – the first race meeting of the Simpson Desert Racing Carnival.

The ghost town of Betoota comes alive and literally rises from the dust; Live entertainment starts Friday night and continues with a full 6 race program commencing at 11.30 am on Saturday; and includes the ever popular Fashions on the Field.

The fun weekend is a prelude to the Birdsville Races held the following weekend and the Bedourie Races & Bedourie Ute Muster held at Bedourie, the following Weekend.

Catering and bar facilities are open on Friday evening and all day Saturday. A hearty breakfast is available on Sunday morning.

Camping is available onsite (at the racecourse) from Friday night until Sunday morning with hot & cold showers and toilets or if you prefer there is self-suficient bush camping at the waterhole nearby.

Weekend passes are available and include camping fees. Single entry passes are also available.

As the town offers no services make sure you purchase sufficient supplies, fuel, medicines etc when you pass through Windorah, Birdsville and Innamincka. Planes can refuel at Windorah and Birdsville, the nearest chemist is at Quilpie and medical clinics are located in Birdsville and Windorah.
