About Gilgandra
The Netherlands of the Outback
Gilgandra was once known for a skyline dotted with windmills. Nowadays, it is probably best known as being the starting point of the famous World War 1 recruitment drive - the Coo-ee March. They bred them tough in the bush and there are many memorials to remember those who were courageous and fought selflessly in the war.
