About Collarenebri
For many years the shallow rocly ford on the Barwon River provided a river crossing for stock and pioneer travelers.
A long association with the Aboriginal community, there are many artifacts and a well maintained Aboriginal cemetery just outside the town
The fisherman's friend
Collarenebri is favourite amongst anglers in the area. It has some popular fishing holes and the Barwon River is considered one of the best inland fishing spots in outback Australia.
Unwind and relax
'Colli' is great for a quiet camping getway. You can camp on a number of riverbank areas or there is a local hotel that offers good old country hospitality.
Becareful of Skippy
Collarenebri is only 45 minutes drive to Walgett and just over an hour to Lightning Ridge. The roads are long and straight with little traffic, but do be careful as there are many kangaroos, and hitting them, doesnt make for happy travelling.
