Charters Towers - Gold and Ghosts

A scenic gold mining city big on history and character 90 minutes south-west of Townsville, Charters Towers is arguably the most beautiful inland city in Queensland. From a chance discovery of gold in 1871, Charters Towers was soon turned into a bustling metropolis, which was once the second largest city in Queensland.
