Located on the mouth of the Norman River just 70 odd kms from Normanton, Karumba has been long associated with great fishing and the prawning industry.

Karumba is surrounded by flat wetlands and mangroves which attracts fishing and crabbing, birdwatching and crocodile spotting.

The Morning Glory Cloud rolls in during the months of September and October.
