Visitors will be impressed with the clean and neat town set amongst the hills and the friendliness of the local residents.

Activities can be as varied as tackling the town walk or horse trails, catching up with the district's history, visiting local renowned artist, Sandy Chambers, the Carnaby Beetle and Butterfly Collection, the Museum, Harvey Dickson's Country Music Centre, Roo Gully Wildlife Sanctuary, the Perup Ecology Centre or admiring the wildflowers in Spring.
Boyup Brook is also a great spot for birdwatchers being home to a large variety of birdlife.

In past times, sheep farming has been a major contributor to Boyup Brook's settlement and wealth and, although still important, the downturn in wool prices has seen farming become much more diverse. With its rich loamy soils, cropping of canola, barley and oats have become profitable and many other new crops are being trialled regularly. Many farms have been sold or leased for tree plantations while other farmers have turned to viticulture and deer farming.

There are also two well known local businesses manufacturing woollen clothing - Stormboy with their jumpers and socks and Stagline with their vests, rugby tops and shirts.

With the annual country Music Festival in February, the May Medley and Heavy Horse State Ploughing Match in May and Boyup Brook being discovered as a great place to retire in, the Shire's motto, "Boyup Brook - Country Choice" is very appropriate.
