Tours & Attractions
Located in the heart of the downs country Millmerran traditionally provided for the surrounding district, but as development, which is creeping up on this town, takes shape in the form of the newly built power station and more diversity in crops and farming techniques, this sleepy little country town has been granted a new breath of life.
Once you grow in the black, you'll never go back
Being only 220 km from Brisbane and 80km s/w of Toowoomba, Millmerran sits in a handy location for the farmers that are succesfully growing a diverse range of products including the usual livestock, eggs, geraldton wax flowers, cereal grains, green produce and has also become home to some of the nations most succulent olives. It seems as though nearly everything tried, thrives in this rich black soil.
For the Nature Lovers
Nature wise , there are some enjoyable walks to be had around Commodore Peak Lookout and The Mount Basalt Reserve where you will also catch a few sweet views of the surrounding district.
Other than the natural attractions you should also check out the band rotunda in Anzac Memorial Park, which shadows the war memorial to those locals who gave their all in the various wars to protect our great country.
Something else you wont miss around town are the murals which depict some of the towns history, they do their bit to help brighten up this pleasant little town as well as highlight how things were once done.
