About the North Gregory Hotel Motel

Situated in the heart of the outback, on the Matilda Highway in Winton, the North Gregory Hotel Motel lays claim to the first live performance of Waltzing Matilda way back in 1895.

It has become a town icon with its links to the bush, owned by David and Prue Strang & family, it is a family-orientated business, with is friendly staff, and great meals.

We can accommodate just about anyone with ensuite rooms, hotel rooms, backpackers, even a free tourist park, we also have large family rooms available. We are local to the area and offer vast local knowledge to anyone in need of tourist information.

Motor Cycle Friendly Winton Accommodation

Being a pub that is owned and run by a Ulysses member has made the North Gregory Hotel a great place for anyone on two or three wheels to stay. For anyone riding through we have free tea and coffee available all day.

We have secure, undercover lock-up parking for your bikes. We also can organise morning teas or lunches to have here or to pick up and take with you.

Graham and Lachie are members of Southern Cross Association and Yamaha Tribe. David, who is the licensee of the hotel, is a Ulysses member (40634), so handling motorbikes is something we are experienced at and enjoy doing.
