The ultimate outback Christmas Gift
With Christmas fast approaching and time running out to buy your loved ones the perfect present, we decided to explore the outback to find the ‘ultimate outback’ Christmas gift!
In the western plains of NSW, we found the charming works of award-winning poet Maggie May Gordon, in collaboration with regional artist Faye Gardiner, in a classic collection of outback poetry known as "Country Rhymes".
Each poem takes you on a journey which explores the traditional way of life in the outback ... from Damper & Tea to Winter Sun & Summer Rain to Christmas in the Bush (not forgetting A Land Down Under!) ... which will leave you wanting more. And there's more on the way with the beautiful "Land Of Green & Gold" coming soon!
In her delightful illustrations, Faye has captured the amazing colours of the outback ... allowing your mind to be consumed as you journey through the poetry.
"Country Rhymes" are more than just poetry but rather pieces of art that capture the tranquility of the Australian countryside. With over 20 poems available, you can buy in piece or the full collection.
"Country Rhymes" make an ideal Christmas gift for everyone ... from the poetry lovers to the cultured, to even the grandchildren who will love listening to the stories of the outback in a truly special and unique gift written in our own Aussie backyard. They're only a click away!

ABout Maggie
Most culture vultures would know of Maggie May's work with the Aussie stage show hit "Eureka!" which was performed at Her Majesty's Theatre as part of the 2004 Melbourne Festival; and she plans to launch a new Australian musical in 2008.
Maggie finds that life on a sheep/wool property in NSW is conducive to writing.. Her books "A Land Called 'Country' (collection of poems) and "Jack's Outback" (an anthology of short stories) have been inspired by the characters she meets and way of life in the Australian bush. "My collaboration with Faye has taken my writing to new 'Aussie" heights ... and we hope that people everywhere will see & enjoy our unique country through Country Rhymes".
