Cattle, cotton, pigs and sheep, rivers wide and black soil deep! In the heart of the downs, Dalby lays along the banks of the Myall Creek surrounded by an incredibly diverse cross section of farmers, all taking advantage of the rich black soil this area provides. Being only 210km west of Brisbane.
Centrally located by rail and road Dalby's local economy not only provides for the outback region, but makes use of the excellent rail/trucking system to showcase their wares to the "bigsmoke", as it sit on the junction of the Warrego,  Headquarters of the Wambo Shire,  Dalby is joined by Jandowae (home of the $1 blocks of land), Bell, Jimbour, Kaimkillenbun and Warra as one of the most prosperous shires in the outback.
You certainly could'nt say this bunch is wrapped in cotton wool! This is one town that loves a party, the ten or so thousand residents never seem to be bored. Probably the most famous Dalby outback event would be the Australian Cotton Week, this one week of extreme fun includes street parades, family fun days, horse racing , a triathlon, golf events, fashion parades, cotton industry seminars and much much more!

There seems to be something happening in Dalby around every corner.

Dalby is also the place to base if you're thinking of visiting Lake Broadwater Conservation Park, Bunya Mountains or the famous historical Jimbour Homestead.
