Dust Dust and more Bloody Dust

Entering Birdsville, you may well wonder was this worth the drive, because my friends, this is one of the most remote places on earth. However to those with their eyes completely open, she holds a beauty like no other outback town and a beating heart that near jumps out of itself every September.

Race out once and you'll be raring to return

Who would have thought that so much fun could be jammed in between two deserts. Every September in Birdsville the time honoured Birdsville Cup is run over a three day carnival. Roll out your swag and get ready to party, because this is one of the most memorable Outback events you will experience. Probably the only initial complaint is the dust , however it doesn't take long to learn that a few cold ales will remedy this. Many famous (some infamous) racing identities from all over Australia venture here every year to compete. Colourful Darling Downs trainer Geoff Dixon took out the 2005 Cup with former Melbourne galloper Monee Lane and returned an 2006 to repeat the dose.

Four of the Greatest Outback Attractions, and more...

The Birdsville Races, The Birdsville Hotel, The Birdsville Track and Big Red. These are just part of what makes up this amaizing little Outback community. Adding to the above mentioned beauty and heart of this town are some of the most amazing colours and desert landscapes.

If only it didnt take so long to get there!!
