About Thallon
Thallon is a small township of approx 450 people, 76 kms South East of St George on the Carnarvon Highway. It was once a stop for the famous Cobb & Co coaches on the Mungindi to St George route. One of the big attractions of the town is the Bullamon Homestead. Built in the 1860's - the magnificent homestead retains its original shingle roof slab, log walls and the remains of what was once spectacular Chinese gardens. Thallon is perfect for an outback camping escape. Overnight camping is available and there are a number of farm stays around the traps. It is a predominate birdwatching area and anglers will find a great estuary on the Moonie River.
